VocalNet brings firewall founder, Nir Zuk, to address security concerns at upstate NY symposium on October 27th in Canandaigua, NY
PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Oct. 19, 2009 – VocalNet, Inc., the Rochester area network security and VoIP provider, today announced it will be sponsoring a symposium on Oct. 27 featuring international network security experts and fine dining. The event will be hosted at the New York Wine and Culinary Institute, 800 South Main Street, Canandaigua, in New York.
Nir Zuk, Founder and CTO of Palo Alto Networks, will be speaking at the event. As a principal engineer at Check Point in 1994, Mr. Zuk invented the stateful inspection technology used in most enterprise firewalls today. Mr. Zuk was also the co-founder of OneSecure and the CTO of NetScreen and Juniper. In 2005, he recognized the limitations of stateful inspection technology and decided it was time to fix the firewall.
Other guest speakers will include: Terry Ray, Senior Director for Americas and Asia Pacific Technical Services for Imperva, Inc.; Chris Poulin, CSO, Q1 Labs; and Steve Tassinari, Regional Sales Manager of Varonis.

Santa Clara, CA and Pittsford, NY — June 12, 2008 — VocalNet Inc, a premier provider of next generation integrated voice, data and managed services and Edgewater Networks, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP networking and security products announced today that VocalNet, Inc. has selected Edgewater Networks’ EdgeMarc for their Hosted PBX solution- DigitalVoice.
The EdgeMarc will be used by VocalNet at their customer premises as a demarcation point for their DigitalVoice offering. VocalNet recommends the EdgeMarc to customers and uses the quality of service (QoS) and call quality monitoring capabilities to ensure DigitalVoice service quality. For VocalNet, the EdgeMarc combined with the EdgeView VoIP Support System gives them powerful troubleshooting and circuit monitoring capabilities that are demanded in the enterprise space. This powerful combination allows VocalNet to sell a high quality service at a reasonable price while enabling them to scale their operations and business to keep up with the demands of their customers.
